Frederick M. Sauers

Sauers, Frederick M., 88, East Taylor Twp., died August 28, 2013 at home. Born August 14, 1925 in Johnstown, son of the late Martin and Sarah Ann (Waters) Sauers. Preceded in death by brother-in-law, John Zedek and niece, Linda. Survived by wife of 65 years, Ann E. "Bea" (Packech) Sauers; daughter, Deborah Ann, married to Robert Burke, Johnstown; grandchildren, Robert Burke, married to Jennifer (Kovac) and Amy Burke, married to Christopher Utnik, all of Johnstown; great-grandchildren, Tristan; Mikayla and Ayden Burke; sisters, Doris (Sauers) married to Charles Todorich and Betty (Sauers) married to John Zedek and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred worked at the Bethlehem Steel Car Shop; was a member of the Conemaugh Grace Brethren Church and a US Navy Veteran. He rode in blimps as a radio operator and flew over the International Date Line. He loved and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved fishing with Bea in Stumpy, DE. He was his grandchildren and great-grandchild's biggest fan. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to a memorial service at 6:30pm Friday at the Conemaugh Grace Brethren Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family.
