Schalles, Robert N., 80, Johnstown, died July 4, 2010 at Windber Hospice. Born June 6, 1930 in Windber, son of the late George W. and Elizabeth (Neilson) Schalles. Preceded in death by sister Jean Jones.
Survived by wife, the former Kathleen Joyce Goodin, Johnstown and these children; Karen OBrian, Johnstown; Kathy Schalles, Exton, PA; Robert and wife Carol; Mae, married to Mike Altman and Jean, married to Ray Jastrab, all of Johnstown. Brother, George Schalles and wife, Lois, Houston, TX; sister Daryle married to Robert Brown, Ligonier and Miriam married to Jerry Berkibile, Johnstown. Also survived by grandchildren, Nicole; Amanda; Kayla; Joshua; Stephen; Cassie; Kaylee; Zachary and Jason and his beloved dog, "Paco".
Robert was a member of the Ferndale United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge 278 and a US Army veteran during the Korean War. He was a retired electronic technician for Unisys.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Family requests donations to Windber Hospice in Bobs memory.
