Walter A.Klink


Klink, Walter A., 88, Johnstown, died June 30, 2010 at LaurelWood Care Center. Born July 22, 1921, in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Ignatius J. and Nellie E. (Krysko) Klink. He was also preceded in death by three siblings in infancy, brothers, Joseph J. and Edward J. Klink; sisters, Mary Potasnik, Helen Bloom and Caroline J. Matey.

Survived by a sister, Emelia Hinterliter and husband, Charles, Windber; special twin nieces, Denise and Debora Klink, Johnstown, along with numerous other close nieces and nephews.

Mr. Klink serviced in the US Army during WWII stationed in the European Theatre. He was a medic for a period of time, also Military Police and worked construction. He retired from the Wheel Plant at Bethlehem Steel. He was a life member of St. Casimir Church and a recent member of St Francis of Assisi Church. Walter cared for unwanted pets. He enjoyed walking his pets and reading.

Friends will be received at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. 146 Chandler Ave. Johnstown, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Francis of Assisi Church on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with Franciscan Frairs OFMConv. Burial will follow at Grandview.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Somerset SPCA.
