Kauffman - Homer Junior, 85, Johnstown, died May 17, 2010 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born June 2, 1924 in South Fork; son of the late Homer N. and Effie Mae (Jones) Kauffman. Preceded in death by brother, Donald Kauffman.
Survived by loving wife, Doris A. (Stiffler) Kauffman; daughter, Sandra Garland and husband Winsome, Johnstown; and son, James Kauffman married to Holly (Ackerman), Greensburg. Also, grandchildren, Matthew Kauffman and Amy Peterson and great grandchildren, Silas, Jacob, Amie, Ella, Tessa, and Owen Peterson.
U.S. Navy Submarine Veteran of WWII. Former Cable Splicer for GTE and PBX Repairman for Verizon.
Member of Salix Bethel United Methodist Church and Cambria County Community Arts Center - Apple Group.
Homer was an avid water color artist and also enjoyed raising and selling tropical fish.
At the family's request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Arbutus Park Chapel, Rev. Jon Gulnac officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Arbutus Park Retirement Community in memory of Homer.
